Qawalangin Tribe Membership

The Tribal Council looks at Membership applications each month at a Council Meeting and votes yay or nay depending on the qualifications of the applicant

According to Article IV in the Constitution of the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska a Qawalangin Tribal Member shall consist of: 

 

  • All persons of Aleut descent whose names appear on the 1940 Census, the World War II Evacuee Roll and the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) Roll

  • To qualify to become a Tribal Member, you must be a lineal descendant of an enrolled Tribal Member and fill out the Enrollment Application

 

Upon becoming a Tribal Member, the next step is to get a Tribal ID, which you fill out the Tribal Identification Card Request Form, and mail it to us, a $10 fee we ask for each printed ID
 


We ask of Tribal Members to ensure updated information for the record keeping at the Qawalangin Tribe.

  Keep up-to-date:

  • Mailing Address

  • Physical Address

  • Name Changes

  • Membership Discontinuation (The Qawalangin Tribe prohibits dual membership w/ other tribes)
